Creating stationery using Outlook Express Stationery Wizard
Materials and Tools Required:
Paint Shop Pro to create your tiles.
Outlook Express
One seamless tile jpg sized to your monitor resolution. My monitor is 1280 X 1024, so I make my background tiles 1280 pixels wide. Even if your resolution is set lower, you can use a 1280 px jpg for this tut.
You can download the background tile I made from the Bromley tube to save you a little time or you can use the tile you made from the previous tut. Extract the jpg tile to a folder on your harddrive. You can save it directly to OE's Stationery folder if you want. (I save any graphics files I use to a different folder for backup, so I use copy to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery).
Once it's there, open Outlook Express and click on the dropdown button next to Create Mail.
Choose Select Stationery.

It opens to this window. Click on Create New.

The first window is the Stationery Wizard splash screen. MS has to get their plugs in no matter what you are doing, so just click Next.
It will open to the Backgrounds window. Check the Picture box and then Browse. It will automatically open to its own stationery folder. I selected bromleybrush.jpg for this stat.

Position - Top and Left

Color doesn't need anything.
Click Next.

Choose the Font and font size and color you want to use with the stationery. (I believe Papyrus is a Windows font, perhaps downloaded with Internet Explorer. I chose it because it's pretty and a common font that almost everyone has on their computer.)
Click Next

Margins -
You don't want your font overrunning the sidebar, so you need to set your margins to the right of the butterfly images. In this case, the image was extra wide, so I set the left margin at 325. For aesthetics, I set the Top Margin at 25. (Type in the numbers, don't use the up and down arrows with this or they will run away with you. It has done it in every version of Windows and OE that I've used.) Check the Preview window to see how the text will show up in your stat.

Name your stationery... Because the tubers name was on the tube, I named this bromleybrush.
Click Finish

This takes you back to the select screen.
OE will have your new stat selected, so all you have to do is click OK.
Your stat will open as a new email for you to use.

Enjoy your new stationery by sending a note to your friends and family.
