AFTER MIDNIGHT

Skill level: Intermediate - This tut assumes that you have a working knowledge of PaintShop Pro 8 or above.

Supplies needed:
PSP (I used version 9 but this should work in any version of PSP.

Sinedots II
Download the plugin (at the bottom of the page), unzip to its own folder - and move the entire folder to your Plugins Directory. Make sure to include the .cfg file that comes with the filter.

Tube of choice.
Floral Accent Tube of choice

Materials here
You may use the tubes I used or you can use your own. Of course, the tutorial is written for the tubes I used. Please make adjustments to your own tubes accordingly.

For convenience I included the resize script I use in the materials rar file. Install the 01resize5X.pspscript into your PSP restricted scripts. This script resizes an image to 90% five times. I resize in small increments several times instead of reducing by a larger amount. This maintains the integrity of an image much better than a single reduction.

Let's get started.

Open a new raster image, 500 X 500, tranparent.

Select a light color from your tube for the foreground (I used #9eabd4 ) and white for your background colors. Change the foreground to gradient, foreground-background with these settings:

Effects >Plugins> Dragonfly> Sinedots II

At the bottom of the screen, select OPEN, and browse to the Sinedots II plugin folder and look for PSP_PluggersPresets.cfg.
Click on the dropdown arrow above the preset buttons and select Cheroke #4.
Right click on the Color box and change the color to #d0d1e8.
Click OK.

Open and duplicate (Shift + D) the lady tube twice. Close the original to use another day.

Run the script 01resize5X on one of the tube copies.
Copy the reduced tube.
Paste it as a new layer into your Sinedots image.
Duplicate the tube layer twice, so you have three layers of the same tube.

Hide the bottom layer (the sinedots background.)
Hide the top two layers of the tube.
Highlight the bottom tube layer.

Effect > Distortion Effects > Twirl 125
Open and highlight the first copy of the tube.
Effects > Distortion Effects > Warp
Horizontal and vertical: 10
Size and strength: 50

Make sure that the only layers visible are the two distorted tube layers.
Merge visible.
Effect > Artistic Effects > Topography
Width 75
Density 47
Angle 85
Color White

Open the bottom and top layers.

Top tube layer
Image > Mirror

Use the mover tool to drag the top tube layer up and to the right, so that she looks like she is sitting on the sinedots swirl.

Lower the layer opacity to 56%.

Resize the second copy of your tube to 80% if you use the provided tube. If you chose to use your own, the tube should be approximately 440 pixels in height.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer.

Use the mover tool to position her so that she is sitting on the left inside of the sinedots heart.

Open the floral tube.
Use the rectangle selection tool to draw around the lower petunia bunch.

Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colorize
Hue 160
Saturation 60

Do not deselect.

Adjust > Brightness and contrast > Brightness/Contrast
Brightness +68
Contrast +31

Copy and paste as a new layer at the top of the layer palette. Use the mover tool to drag it to the lower left corner in front of the sitting lady.

Return to the floral tube and run the 5x resize script on it.

Copy the resized selection and paste as a new layer in your working image.
Image > Mirror.
Use the mover tool to drag the flowers to the right so they are in front of the smaller lady.

Layers > Arrange > Move Down. Repeat so that the small flowers are below the large lady and in front of the small one in the background.


Add border 3
Floodfille with gradient
Add border 5
Floodfill with black
Add border 3
Floodfill with gradient.

Finish by resizing and adding your sig.
