Breathing Tut

Rewritten by Gizmo after losing Carita's tut. Many thanks to Carita for the instructions on how to animate breathing!

1.Open a graphic that you would like to see breathing.

2.If you want to put your name on it or put a frame around it now is the time.

3.Activate you freehand selections tool. settings. Point to point.
Mode= replace, Feather=0, Smoothing=0 and Anti-alias checked.

4.Now lets surround the area that you want to see breathing... Shown in Screen shot below.
With mine I am going to add a mask and a name.

5.Now I will save the first one as Hunk1 with out any selections to it.

6.Now I will make my selections with my freehand selections tool on the area I want to breath. Once I have done that I will now hit shift + D and make 3 copies of my selected hunk. You will have in total 4 hunks waiting on you to make him breath..lol..

7.Drop kick (minimize) all the hunks except 1, leaving him to start the breathing.

8.Go to effects-Distortion Effects/Punch, Strengh set at 4.

Selections, select none.
Save as a psp file as Hunk. If you are using psp 9 or later you will want to save as Animation shop file. Now save this same one again only this time name it Hunk8.

10.Pick up another one of your hunks that you just dropped kicked and go to Distortion Effects /punch, Strength 8.

Selections, Select none.

Now lets save this Hunk as Hunk3 and then save it again as Hunk7.

Always remember to save as a psp file and if using psp 9 or above save as an Animation shop file.

11.Pick up another one of them Hunks that you dropped kicked earlier and again, go to Distortion Effects/Punch Strengh 12.

Selections, select none. Save as a psp file as Hunk4 and then again as Hunk6.

12.Pick up your last Hunk and go to Distortion Effects/punch, Strengh 16. Save as psp file as Hunk5 and now you are done and ready to go see this man breathe...

Open Animation Shop ... Go to Animation Wizard click on the wizard and in the next window you will select: Same size as the first image frame then go to Next.
In this window you will select Transparent. Then next.
In this window you will select Upper left corner of the frame and With the canvas color..
Go to next. In this window you will select Yes repeat the animaitons indefinitely.

And where it says How long do you want each frame to be displayed(in 1/100th of a second you will put 25.

Go to next, Click on Add Image.

Now you will go to the folder where you saved your hunks and click on Hunk8 to highlight it, now hold down on your shift key and then go to Hunk1 and this will highlight all 8 of your hunks in the order 1-8 in the Add Image window.

Now go to next and view your Breathing Hunk in action..If I did this tut right you should have what you want. Now remember I don't do tuts and this is not really my tut it is a friends and I am donig my best to try and write it so that you may understand it. So good luck and have fun..

You will Probably need to resize your image about 75% to reduce the file size.
