I am going to give you step-by-step instructions on how to make your text sparkle.
First, locate the sparkle/glitter that you want to use.
Glitter (001.gif)
Open Animation Shop and click File> Open. Find
your glitter and open it.

Click Edit > Select All
Click Edit > Copy
Minimize Animation Shop.
Open Paint Shop Pro.
Right click in the middle of your work area. Click Paste Animation as Multiple Images.

NOTE!
In Version 8

AS Animation as Multiple
Images
Minimize all three of the glitter images so they aren’t in your way.
Open the background graphic you have ready … In this case : Breeze.jpg (I already put a border around the background to make it easier to work with.

Layers > Promote Background Layer (You don’t have to do this, but I like having it as a raster layer so I can adjust it – using the Layer property sliders and selection in the Layers Palette.

(Here is where you would choose a tube and do other things to enhance your
tag background – we’re going to skip that part for now… Just use this simple background
un til you have a better feel for what you are doing.)
Next, Layers > Duplicate TWICE

Right click on the bottom layer in your layer palette and click Rename:

Rename the first layer A – Right click on the second layer and rename it to B, and the third layer to C. It’s important to keep track of the layers by easy names to remember.
We’re going to make 3 more layers for your glitter text, and there’s a special way to combine the layers… ready?

Click on your text tool. Create as Vector – Direction (don’t know if this is in V8 or not…) Size 72, Stroke width 1 -

In your Materials Palette, select the foreground color
a dark color that will blend with your glitter or your background. Make the background a solid color.

Type in your name and click on apply. You’re still in vector mode so it makes it easier to move the text around. (If you can’t see your text, look at your Layer Palette and drag the Vector Layer to the very top of the list)
I moved the text to the center of the picture. You can put it anywhere
or angle you want.

Look at your Layer palette now. It should look something like this -

(If you want to Edit the Text… right click on the “A Sharon” layer – and click on Edit Text.)
If it’s all the way you want it, Right click on the VECTOR Layer and click on Convert to Raster Layer.
Duplicate the new Layer twice. Rename these layers 1, 2, 3.
Here’s what your layer palette will look like when you’re done renaming. The bottom three layers are ABC and the top three are 123.
