SUPERBLADE PRO

The second part of this tutorial moves into a more complex image. The above button is very similar to a set of buttons I made for a webpage. I used a preset shape for the design, but in order to save time with this exercise, I made a PSP file for you to start with. It includes 3 layers, one transparent layer, a layer with the preset design on it and the top layer with the pearl button. I also included some presets and environment bmps. Download the package here. Move all the .p9q files and the .bmp files to whereever you keep your plugins for PSP - this file path.
...\Plugins\FlamingPear\SuperBladePro\Environments and Textures\ folder.

Open decodiam2.psp. Hide the top layer and forget it's there for now. Set your Magic Wand to the settings below and click on all of the black area in the second layer so your image looks like this.

Open SuperBlade Pro. Now, instead of the presets you made in part one, open the texture button and select canal.bmp

Open the Environments selections and choose cove.bmp.

Leave the other settings as they are.

Click OK.

Deselect.

Use your Magic Wand again to select all of the Yellow area. This time, flood fill it with dark blue. I used #052f69.

No SBP for this selection. Effects >Texture Effects > Polished Stone
with the settings below.

Use this Inner bevel on the selection. Deselect.

Lastly, select the inside transparent section and flood fill it with any color.

SuperBlade Pro > Preset >0vetchcharcoal.q5q Click OK.

Inner Bevel (same as above.)

Deselect.

Unhide the top layer. It's a large pink pearl.

Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colorize the pearl to your liking. Here are my colorize settings.

Save your file NOW as a .psp file for future use in making web buttons or accents for something else.

Resize your button to no more than 120 pixels wide.

When I make webbuttons for a page, I prefer to make .jpgs with a background matching the background of my webpage instead of using transparent .gifs, but if you want to make your button a .gif file, export it as a .gif

I like black and the gray buttons, so that is what I will floodfill my background with before I export it as a jpg.

Happy Button making.
